Biography

After studying a BA hons degree in sculpture at Edinburgh College of Art, I have continued working as a professional artist within the uk and abroad, undertaking private commissions alongside creating work for public exhibition. This has included being a gallery artist at Amber Roome Contemporary Art for three years and being annually selected to show with several of the Scottish exhibiting societies, of which, Visual Arts Scotland have now elected me a professional member. I have just completed two years as a council member being involved in the running of the society and its exhibitions.

Previously I was awarded a one-year fellowship to the creative and technical skills programme for professional artists at Dundee Contemporary Arts for print and art education. I was a commissioned artist for cowparade Edinburgh and have recently completed a commission for the big things on the beach garden gallery arts festival, also in Edinburgh. I have also worked as a freelance artist and set/exhibition worker in Cannes, France.

Alongside my professional art practice I am involved in the teaching and designing of workshops for galleries and community art based projects. For the past two years I have been a part time tutor for Impact Arts North Edinburgh Fab Pad Project.

A year long collaboration in bone china with artists Julia Douglas and Rebecca Wilson saw us representing craftscotland in Glasgow and being part of a Scottish craft campaign for channel four, The C Word.

After a recent move to the Scottish highlands, I continue my practice in the hills.
